We're crazy for cricket!

Though I am not a cricket freak! But when I saw this photograph in the newspaper yesterday, I was inspired to sketch it! This depicts the humility of the extreme successful man! He thanks God for his achievements. He doesnt let success go into his head! The immensely inspiring sports person with the real 'sports spirit' Sachin Tendulkar! I salute his spirit of maintaining calm and patience when everyone in the world who consider him 'God' were criticising him.

Terence Lewis-The Choreographer

Terence Lewis is an Indian choreographer. He is internationally trained and specializes in Indian folk, contemporary and neo-classical dance forms. He is also a choreographer in Bollywood films and musicals. Terence won the American Choreography Award for his excellent choreography for the songs of the movie Lagaan along with Saroj Khan, Raju Khan, Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant. He was the choreographer of the films like John Mathew’s ‘Shikhar’ and Ram Gopal Verma’s Naach. He also did Music videos like Adnan Sami’s ‘Kasam’ (with Amisha Patel), Stereo Nation’s Ishq (with Koena Mitra) and Shaan, Sapna Mukherjee among others.
I am in no way inspired from nor have any special liking for Terence. I did this sketch for one of my students, who is a great fan of Terence ‘Sir’. This sketch somewhat resembles Terence, not perfectly a Terence’s Sketch.

The Passion of Joy

Joy, one of my students, is a guitarist! This pic caught him with what he is passionate about - his guitar! I enjoyed rendering this sketch! I expressed Joy's passion (playing guitar) through my passion (sketching)!!! So I think the sketch is aptly titled.

The Kathakali Dancer

Kathakali meaning “story-play” is one of the ancient forms of dance-theater. Kathakali is also known as the King of performing arts. This is because it effectively combines the 5 major fine arts viz. literature (Sahityam), music (Sangeetham), Painting (Chitram), acting (Natyam) and dance (Nrithyam). All these 5 arts are indispensable in the performance of the art.

Purity

This sketch is inspired by one of Linda Huber's sketches! She is a great source of inspiration for sketch artists. Her skills in creating photo realistic sketches is awesome. Here is the link to her amazing sketch that inspired me to render this work: http://midtel.net/~imaginee/drink_art.jpg! The purity of water!
Unto the pure all things are pure: Titus 1:15.

Man is born free but everywhere he is in chains

A child looking through the window. This pic, taken by one of my students, is so beautiful that I immediately thought of sketching it. Though its not as beautiful as the photograph! But this gives us a reflection of the thought that the title (given by my friend Shashi Mohan) of this work suggests.
